Number plate recognition

All 18 types of Ukrainian plates under Interior Ministry Order No. 166: standard, electric, trailer, transit, bus and taxi, motorcycle and moped, official and diplomatic. It reads 1995-style, vanity and square two-line plates, and knows all 108 region codes and the online codes DI and ED. For foreign plates we add models for Europe, Moldova, Georgia and other countries.

Any IP camera or recorder channel with an RTSP stream, including 4K and H.265. For an entrance we advise a 2.8–12 mm varifocal camera: the plate must be at least 130 pixels wide in the frame, with a shutter speed no slower than 1/1000 s. We set up the entrance camera ourselves.

Yes. The server stays on site, so recognition, the log and video work without internet. The N-GATE controller decides by its own plate list and needs no connection either. Internet is only needed for remote access and updates.

The N-GATE app: the admin adds and removes plates, and the list is stored on the controller. N-LPR only reads the plate and passes it to the controller, which decides whether to open. In a paid car park, entry rules are set in the NAGLYAD PARK dashboard.

Each zone on the frame sends a webhook on a car’s entry, stay and exit with the plate, camera, time and confidence. The log, photos, frames and video are available through a REST API documented in OpenAPI, and new reads arrive as a live stream. We give API access on request.

By default video is kept for seven days, and the period is set for each camera separately. When the disk fills up, the oldest recordings are deleted first, while the recognition log stays. You can record continuously or only when a plate is in the frame.
